Das German Institute of Global and Areal Studies (GIGA), zu deutsch schlicht Leibniz-Institut für Globale und regionale Studien, bietet auf seiner Homepage eine Working Paper-Reihe und unter dem Label GIGA Focus zu verschiedenen Weltregionen – Lateinamerika, Afrika, Asien, Nahost – an. Ein schönes Beispiel, wie ein Institut seine Erträge zum Teil kostenlos anbietet und dokumentiert. Gerade die Monatshefte von GIGA Focus sollten von jeder Politikwissenschaftlerin und jedem Politikwissenschaftler zur Kenntnis genommen werden, zu deren/dessen Interessengebiet die jeweilige Weltregion gehört.
